Political thinking in childhood ! Politics, along with political thinking is a mature and complex theme that is only taken up by adults. This is the common perception that surrounds this interesting topic.
However, politics is not entirely government-related. It is also related to responsibilities, rights and powers which are concepts that are not only relevant to adults but young children as well. Political thinking is important during childhood as this type of thinking will not only develop the future leaders and voters, but also give them a broadened vision. Political thinking is needed to understand our society and its government well in advance.
Political science in schools help to know it more through student cabinets, student leaders through conducting election and getting votes from the fellow students, making to know the realm of politics.
Why should we introduce the concept of political thinking early?
Well, children who learn about politics, not only via books but also through the current happenings, are found to think and perceive circumstances and problems in a different manner and solve it in different ways as well.
They also understand each other’s rights and responsibilities. They are aware of issues like equality, freedom and justice and often are found to be brave enough to stand up for themselves.

Children who are exposed to political thinking are found to handle issues decisively, in a positive manner. It’ll also build in good leadership qualities which are one of the myriad qualities that an individual must have to be successful.
